Page 10, News, Tuesday, March 27, 1990 Women of the Moose business meeting Terrace Bay Chapter 1426 Women of the Moose held their business meeting on Sunday, March 18th. Star Recorder Helen Almos chaired the meeting with 15 co-workers present. -- Helen Almos was congratulat- ed on being a member for 25 years. She was presented with her 25 year pin by Recorder Sadie Benko. A letter was read from the Moose Mixed and Ladies dart league asking the members if they were willing to cater for their banquet on May 12. All members were in favor of doing the supper, Convenor and co- convenor to be picked at next meeting. Catholic The regular meeting of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Women's League was held Monday, March 12th; the inten- tions of our prayers were offered for the McColman family. Marg gave the scripture read- ing followed by Linda with the reflection. Sharyn chaired the meeting in Kathleen's absence. The minutes Following adjournment games were played with prizes being won by Helen Almos, Heather Sechesky, Pat Merkley, and Vicky Kostiuk. Pot of gold was won by Alma Hart. Birthday cake donated by Annette Landry was served with tea and coffee. Birthday girls for March are Yvonne Mallais, Janet Fowler, Minnie Woodruff and Sadie Benko. The next meeting will be held on April 1. Women's League were read by Marilyn; Diane then gave the treasurer's report. Sharyn read a newsletter on the Convention to be held May 8- 10 at St. Agnes Parish in Thunder Bay. Lillian had memberships for Pro Life and asked about medals to be ordered for the new babies born at the local hospital. Sunday, April Ist will be Solidarity Sunday to make people more aware of the third World Countries. All parishioners are urged to attend and participate. The Information Centre will be held at the rticipate in the management planning process by reviewing and commenting on the proposed al proposed road locations and areas eligible for harvest for the twenty (20) year period of the plan commencing April 1st, 1991, as well os more detailed proposals for harvesting, road development and renewal and maintenance operations for 1996. After the Information Centre, a period of thirty days is available for public submissions on the preliminary proposals before the draft Timber Management Plan is prepared. During this time, the displays and information will continue to be available for review at the Ministry of Natural Resources office in Manitouwadge. Written comments should be submitied by May 26th, 1990. Come out to the Public Information Centre. Your comments and knowledge of the area are important in the production of a good Timber Management Plan! The Draft Timber Management Plan will be available for public review and comment on November 1st, 1990 and the approved plan on March ist, 1991.
