TERRACE BAY/SCHREIBER NEWS Wednesday, August 9,1989 Terrace Bay recreation news Programs Summer Aerobics Gwen Black will be instruct- ing a Summer Aerobics Program on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This program is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 14 and finish on wednesday, September 6. To register call the Recreation Office at 825-3542, Fall Programs We are in the process of com- piling the Fall and Winter Program Brochure. We have planned some new and exciting Special Interest Courses and Programs for the Fall. If you have any suggestions or wish to teach, please contact the Recreation Office at 825-3542. Fall Fair The Fall Fair is only a month away! Mark your calendar - September 10. We've had a great Schreiber Fall Programs The recreation department is commencing its Fall Programs Brochure. If you have any ideas or would like to participate in a particular program please contact the recreation office and we will do our best to have the program offered this fall. 1989-90 Ice Time all groups are reminded that they must have their requests for weekly ice time and special events into the recreation office in writing before 5:00 p.m. Friday, September '15. Aerobics The recreation department is looking for someone to conduct the Aerobics classes in the com- munity hall this fall. If you are interested but not qualified please contact the recreation office at 824-2317. We will ensure that the appropriate training is made available to you. Summer Playground Another exciting week has gone by, and there was a number of fun-filled things we did; walks, painting, beach party and making of paper plate people. Some of the events that the Summer Playground Staff have planned for the upcoming week are; Finding Treasures, Teddy Bear Party, Puppet Show & Freaky Friday. Sheri, Jeff and Cindy hope to see all of your smiling faces in the last couple of fun-filled weeks of Summer Playground. recreation Summer Playground During the week the summer playground had many fulfilled adventures such as the Police Station Tour, Library Tour, Bowling and also a very interest- ing experience with our Jello Eating Contest. Without the help of our special volunteers these events would not be possible. Special thanks to Betty Ann McKenna and Constable Darren Rolland for their patience and informative tour. Special thanks Swimming Pool The second session of swim lessons is underway as of August Ist, with a great turn-out. Aquabics was completed last Wednesday, and therefore OPEN SWIM on Monday & Wednesday 'nights will begin at 6:30 p.m. Our SWIM to the SLATES CHAL- LENGE is open for any persons still interested in participating. news also to our bowling drivers Connie Elkin, Randy Bolan and Ivan Martin.
