Renaud said in addition there have been complaints about the noise associated with the trucks hauling and dumping the concen- trate. The News was unable to get in touch with Reeve Mike Cosgrove, but in an interview with CBQ reporter Larry Sanders, Cosgrove said, if council had known about the level of the dust problem they wouldn't have allowed the site in Schreiber. During the meeting, Pelland said steps will be taken to clean up the site to the residents satis- faction and that it will not be moved. The CCSC met last Tuesday, April 11 and Renaud said the CCSC will be consulting a lawyer to determine what legal avenues are open to the group and will be taking the appropriate action. "We're not going to stop till it's (the mineral transfer facility) out of town. Any amount of dust is too much." Cancer can be beaten. Please give generously. Because of this letter, I was invited to a meeting on April 5th between Council, C.P. Rail and the Ministry of the Environment. It was my under- standing that this was to be an information meeting to address the concerns of Council and resi- dents. I was shocked to discover that so few citizens would be informed because of C.P. Rail's objection to media coverage. I think it is appalling that Council has allowed C.P. Rail to continu- ally violate their mutual agree- ment for the past year, as illustrat- ed by the unwillingness of the M.O.E. to share test results which apparently exceed safety stan- dards. I feel that the inaction of all three parties seriously affects the quality of my family's environ- (Ed. note - Hats off too to all the other skaters who took part in the show, too numerous to men- tion here, and to all the parents and volunteers who worked so hard to make it a success.) ment.
