Schreiber Rec notes Gymnastics The Gymnastics Club was once a very strong organization in Schreiber and Terrace Bay. The coach and backbone of the club moved on to bigger and better things and with her went the club. For two years now the 150 children and any new interested participants have had no chance to participate. We now have two qualified level I coaches who wish to see at least the recreational gymnastics club resur- rected. A number of persons are required for assistance in the orga- nization of this club if it is to be operated properly. We are hoping to be in a position to offer the club early in the new year. We must, however, have enough people inter- ested in helping out. If you wish to see gymnastics offered as a pro- gram in Schreiber and Terrace Bay and are willing to help please con- tact the recreation office at 824- 2317. Mixed Volleyball The Mixed Volleyball com- menced on Tuesday, November 22 at 7 p.m. at the high school gym. Anyone interested in an evening of fun and comradary should contact the recreation office or simply be at the gym on Tuesday nights. Please not that you are asked to use the gym entrance on the east side of the building facing the ball park and you must have a pair of running shoes. Upcoming Events November 25, 26, 27 - Midget Invitational Tournament December 2, 3, 4 - Novice Invitational Tournament December 17, 18 - North Shore Hockey Action Level I & Il Theory Coaching League The recreation department is now accepting names of those interested in obtaining their Level I or II Theory Coaching Certification. The clinics will be scheduled for January and February respectively. All interested parties should leave their names at the recreation office. Winter Carnival The schedule of events for the 1989 Winter Carnival is just about finalized. We have over 25 activi- ties scheduled for the week of Friday, February 3 to 12. If your club has not been involved or con- tacted but wish to be involved in the Winter Carnival you must con- tact the recreation office at 824- 2317 before the end of November. This years carnival is going to be big, big, big with activities ranging from snow baseball to family broomball tournament, a pet show, theme dances, suppers, fish derby, card tournaments, ice sculptures etc. So, if your club or organization wishes to get involved now is the time to get organized. Don't forget you have until the end of November to contact the recreation office.
