Page 8, News, Wednesday, February 24, 1988 By Helene Ballard Well, another week gone by; before we know it spring will be here and our feathered friends and flowers will be back. We had our card playing friends in for an afternoon of enjoyment and I want to thank them for coming. We can always use more play- ers; so I hope more of you will come Tuesday afternoons. from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Thursday the 18th we had our monthly birthday party. Our hostesses were the ladies of the Canadian Legion of Terrace Bay. We had two birthday kids this month; Mr. Cliff Barker and Mr. Wallace Avery. We wish them both a happy birthday. Thursday evening some of our residents went to the concert, A Touch of Brass, at the high school. They all enjoyed the music very much. It is nice to be able to go to something right in town. I hope we can have another Bits and Bites series again soon. I hope you nice readers did not laugh too much at the picture o me in last week's paper; I looked like 10 miles of bad road. I sure am not at all photogenic; oh well; beauty is only skin deep. We are starting to look forwari to spring so we can go on picnics to the different spots around the! North Shore; it is always fun to be able to do this. Our thanks to the ladies of the Community Church for their lovely Valentine favours onthe 14th. Also thanks to one of our nurs- es, Debbie McGrath, who came to visit us with her two lovely daughters to bring us homebaked heart-shaped cookies each with his'or her name on in pink frost- ing. We love you all. Until next time, this wee bit of information: "The only difference between April and March is that you don't expect it in April."
