News Briefs Dog owners should get dog tags The Terrace Bay Police Force reports that the 1988 dog tags are now available at the township office. If a dog is found loose without a tag, the owner will be prosecuted; this is also the case even if the dog is on the owner's property without a tag. Two men charged Terrace Bay Police Constable Ralph Polches reports that on Feb. 3 at 3:30 a.m., two Terrace Bay residents were charged with break and enter at the high school. The men were charged as a result of an inves- tigation and are to appear in court at a later date. Healthy and Prosperous The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario is pleased to announce that their Dance for Heart program has been endorsed by the Ontario Fitness Council, effective July 1, 1987. Dance for Heart, a successful fund raising special event promoting cardiovascular fitness through aerobic and dance exercise, is now associated with a fitness organiza- tion dedicated to improving fitness levels and the general well-being of the public at large. The Ontario Fitness Council is an association of individuals with personal and professional interests in the fitness field. The council pro- motes, supports-and facilitates quality fitness practices among its mem- bers. Committed to reducing death and disability due to heart disease and stroke, and increasing public awareness through its educational program, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario sees their associ- ation with the Ontario Fitness Council as reinforcing their mission. During its preliminary two-year endorsement of the Dance for Heart program, the Ontario Fitness Council will be involved in the promotion and development of the program throughout Ontario. The Dance for Heart takes place in Terrace Bay on Feb. 25 from 7- 10 p.m. at the Terrace Bay High School. Anyone 18-years-old and over may participate. Lutheran Church Although the Lutheran Church in Terrace Bay does not have a full time pastor, Hilda Hiebert told the News a pastor is coming to Terrace Bay twice a month for services. The pastor, Minister Mannula, comes from the Lappe Church in Thunder.Bay. He also has the Nipigon congregation and the North Shore. Mannula will be in Terrace Bay on Feb. 14 at 3:30 p.m. for services in the chapel at Birchwood Terrace. Hiebert said the church body. for this area has informed her that they are looking into getting a full time pastor for the Lutheran Church.
