Horticultural Society On Wednesday, November 25, 1987, the Terrace Bay Horticultural Society held its Annual General Meeting. The evening began with a demonstra- tion by Eleanor Gould of a Christmas cen- trepiece with candle. All materials used are available in Terrace Bay so that we would not have difficulty in obtaining the supplies to do our own decorations. She also showed us various other dec- orations to give us ideas and inspiration to create our own unique arrangements. 'At the end of the demonstrations -the centrepiece was drawn as one of the door prizes and was won by Hyacinthe Landry, who thanked Eleanor for coming and sharing her expertise with us. We then held our annual meeting and the following officers were elected: Hyacinthe Landry, president; Terese Landry, Ist vice-president, Ken Randle, 2nd vice-president, Elaine Mannisto, sec- retary; with Kim Ten Hoeve continuing' as our treasurer. : Our directors are Peter Monks, Shirley Gift comes to Rippengal, Ken Randle, June Jeffrey, Jeanne Randle, Anne Smrke, Taina Baker, Daphne Monks, Sandra Stojko and Lise Roy. The president reported on the year's activities which included our public plant- ing in the town, attendence at the District #14 Annual General Meeting in Nipigon and participation in the Fall Fair- we were delighted to win a plaque for the best dee- orated stall. In addition, we have planted bulbs outside the town offices and the bank for a spring display. We will be running our annual Christmas 'bulb' display competition dur- ing December. A flyer inviting everyone to partici- pate will be put in all the mailboxes very shortly. Please support us and maybe win one the prizes of cash which could be used to beautify your summer garden.
