Terrace Ba Schreiber t Publi : TERRAGR ybrar. PoT Swe BAY One. Wednesday, July 1, 1987 9 C.C.T Poy. y Vol. 42, No. 26 Serving Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Rossport 35° Don't miss the Rossport Fish Derby | The community of Rossport, as a whole, owes a great deal to the Ministry of Natural Resources for their fish management policy. This policy, over recent times, has very successfully brought Lake Superior Lake Trout fishing back in our local area. Due to these fine efforts we have been able to at least main- _tain the tradition of a Rossport Fish Derby... fio I should also like to mention the impressive support the derby receives each year from various individuals, organizations and the business communities ~ of Schreiber and Terrace Bay. In 1984, the Rossport, Local Services Board acquired some leased property from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications which enabled the development of a sort of per- manent derby grounds. Considering all the other nec- essary preparations for the derby, having these ready-made facilities makes the job a lot easier. Proceeds from recent derbys have been instrumental in the construction of our Fire Hall as well as assisting with the opera- tional and maintenance expenses of our water system and commu- nity hall. Being 50 years since the very first Rossport Fish Derby, we've done a little extra promotion for the event this year. ~ Cy Brassard, this year's chair- man, arranged for a special news continued on page 11 annie If the shoe fits...
