Terrace Bay replies to Schreiber concerning the upcoming Fun Run- something about not having to solicit tourists. Read on! Minor Ball Registration Registration forms for the 1987 Minor Ball Season have been distributed through the schools. We urge all those interested in playing Minor Ball to register as soon as possible. The deadline is May 11. Leagues will operate only if there is sufficient registration. Schedules will be made up im- mediately after the deadline. The season will commence on Monday, June 1, until Friday, July 31. All participants must be current members of the Terrace Bay Recreation Association. Parents, we need your assistance once again as coaches and umpires. Give us a call at 3542 or drop by the office for a chat. Playground Parks Equipment The parks on Lakeview, Fort Gary, Southridge, Ridgewood, Eastgrove, Poplar and the Pool areas have now been made available for use once again. We urge all parents if they notice any defective equipment to please contact the recreation department immediately. Warning: In the upcoming weeks some of the equipment will be painted by the recreation staff. We would like all parents to be aware this is taking place and not to let their children play there until the paint is dry. Fun Run News The Terrace Bay Recreation Department and committee wish to inform our compatriots in the near- by township that it is not necessary TUNE-UP 4 cyl. 6 cyl. V6 & V8 Add £10.00 for Vans & Turbos for Terrace Bay to solicit Fun Run Participants from tourists passing through our area. The good citizens of Terrace Bay will be out this year in full force to prove they can capture the banners from the two-time champs next door. Boardsailing The Terrace Bay Recreation Department has received informa- tion from the Ontario Sailing Association of the possiblitity of of- fering a Boardsailing program in this area. The recreation department will be taking names to see if there is sufficient interest in this summer activity. Let's hear from you. Read on and find out what is happening. Art Club Workshop The Schreiber Art Club will be holding a Painting Workshop on June 5 and June 6. Guest instructor for the course will be Graham Scoles. Deadline for registration is May 1. Minor Ball The recreation committee is pleased to announce that we have received a Best-ever Grant to hire a Minor Ball Co-ordinator. This person will be hosting a coaching clinic, an umpiring clinic and a skills development clinic in May. The minor ball schedules will in- clude an interlocking schedule with Terrace Bay. : This year should prove to be a very interesting year for minor ball. Mixed Slow Pitch All teams are reminded that their registrations must be received by the recreation office by 5 p.m. Fri- day, May 15, if they wish to play in the 1987 season. -- League play is scheduled to start June 1 with the tournament scheduled for August 19 to 23. Anyone interested in playing adult mixed slow pitch but is not on a team should contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Men's Slow Pitch Anyone interested in playing Men's Slow Pitch should.contact the recreation office before Friday, May 8, at 4 p.m. There will be an important meeting Monday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m. to organize teams and league play. Mixed Teen Slow Pitch The recreation department has planned a Mixed Teen Slow Pitch League for the 1987 season. This league will be open aged 15 4 cyl. 6 cyl. V6 & V8 to 18 years. Registration forms are available at the high school and recreation office. These forms must be into the recreation department no later than 4 p.m. Monday, May 11. Register now! Summer Employment All applications for summer employment must be into the office no later than Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m. Watch out Schreiber, here comes Terrace Bay The Fun Run will be held Mon- day, May 25, at the Schreiber cam- pus of the high school. It is a one- kilometre walk, run, jog, crawl or bike- however you want to make the trip designed for participation. Rumour has it that Tom Falzet- ta is already building a special con- tainer for the banner that Terrace Bay is going to win from Schreiber. Come on Schreiber, let's start talking Fun Run.
