Choir visits The Ontario Youth Choir of Toronto paid a visit to Ter- | conducted with great enthusiasm, creating quite a Rossport Report By Anne Todesco Mrs. Josephine Kenney hosted the St. John Berchmen Altar Society meeting on Monday evening in Ross- port. The opening prayers were led by the President, Mrs. Prina Gerow, who also chaired the meeting. Mrs. Kenney read the Scripture reading of the month. The minutes were read by Mrs. Leo Legault and discussed. Mrs. Pat Beno presented the financial statement which was moved for adoption as reported. Plans were discussed for renewal of the fish suppers to be held, with Oct. 18 chosen for the event this year. The ladies planned the dinner menu of Lake Superior lake trout, potatoes, peas and. carrots, salads, sauces, rolls, pumpkin pies, and beverages. The fish dinner will be served at the Community Hall with two sit- Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow holidayed with relatives at Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan. Mrs. Lillie Schelling of Windsor has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Schelling. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gerow were holidaying at Expo in Vancouver, B.C. Glen Martin of Vancouver has ar- rived to visit his sisters Gwen Gerow and Gail Bain. Mrs. Anne Todesco was welcomed home from the McCausland Hospital and Mrs. Hilda Mushqush is back from the Nipigon Hospital. Juris Zdanoviskis and party are up north in the James Bay area hunting geese. Mrs. Sara Armstrong of Vacinby, B.C. has arrived to visit her daughter Victoria. The Recreation Club held a Games Night in the Community Hall on Saturday evening. Twenty villagers attended. One group showed their skill in playing darts. The other group spent the evening playing cribbage. The committee served a pork and bean supper and an enjoyable even- ing was had by all. The next game evening will be held at the hall on Good golf A former resident of Terrace Bay was one of ten players to gain membership in the Tournament Players Division of the Canadian Pro- fessional Golf Association on Oct. 1. Paul Dashkewytch, now residing in Kelowna, B.C., shot a 69 a final round of 69 at the end of a four-day tournament held at the Glen Meadows Golf Club in Victoria, B.C. for a total score of 290, good enough for fourth place out of 30 competitors. According to a release from Kelowna, Daskewytch wound up as one out of ten who gained member- ship in the division, which allows him to compete in professional golf tours. Kashkewytch is a past winner of the Bill Hanley Memorial Golf Tour- nament in Terrace Bay, taking the first prize trophy in 1983, 1984, and again in 1985. Pillows - $6.49 Oct. 27.
