The store, which has been open in town since October of last year, offers a wide variety of nuts, ranging from pecans to hazelnuts. But Granny's has much more as well, manager/ owner Jacque Willan ex- plained in a recent inter- view. Her store lives up to its name and has all sorts of healthy food for sale, almost all of it in inexpen- sive bulk form. ""We've got about 50 kinds of spices at half the price or less compared to bottled spices," she noted. Since the store opened in town, she has added: a number of items to it, in- cluding aprons, mugs, pot holders, and other kitchen accessories. But it is, above all, a food store, and Granny's has it all. The store has whole wheat flour, white flour, rye flour, and un- bleached flour, all in bulk form. In addition to that,. the shop has different types of beans, sugar, fruits, soups, seeds, and other food for sale. For the kids, there is also some sugar-free can- dy, while older folks might enjoy some herbal tea. Willan encourages area residents to come down and see for themselves "what the store has avail- able. Granny's is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday during the week.
