Bits and Bit by Helene Ballard Another week gone by and it's time again for a wee chat. I guess we can't complain about our weather this past week, as it has been very nice. We have been watching the birds which have returned. It sure is nice to hear their cheery songs early in the morning. Last Thursday the 17th we had our monthly Birth- day Party. It was hosted by the Catholic Women's League for which we all say "thank you" to these very devoted ladies who always make these monthly parties a pleasure to look forward to. We only had one Birthday Kid this time. John Hache, Happy Birthday. I am sure, now that the snow is gone, we can all see the results of throwing all the empty pop cans and wrappers anyplace we can. There should be a lesson in here somewhere, don't you think? If we were not so messy all winter, we would not have so much to clean up come spring. So please, folks, let's all get together and get our fair Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, April 23, 1986, page 9 town cleaned up once again, and please feed your trash to the poor trash cans ... they sure are hungry, as they have not eaten all winter. Thanks. In regard to the problem of another entrance road to the Terrace Heights sub- division, I am sorry the powers that be cannot see fit to let us have one, but let's not give up. Maybe a way can be _ found somehow to take care of this problem. At any rate, let us all support our Reeve and Council in their efforts on our behalf. No doubt we will soon, hopefully, be able to once more see our park here clean and beautiful with flowers. I know we here at Birchwood look forward to being able to sit outside and enjoy the flowers and plants which are around the front entrance and the back patio. Again, now that our residents are once more out walking in front of the home, please do 'not use our driveway as a tur- naround speedway. Last week two different cars did this and it presents a great danger to the seniors who walk outside. Broken bones are no fun for anybody, but for us it can be very dangerous, causing some: the loss of their being able to walk again. So let's be more careful and thoughtful. Thank you. And now, un- til next lweek, this "tid- bit": "The wicked devil sent the wind to blow the skirts knee-high, but God was just and sent the dust, to blind the bad man's eye."' So long.
