Does the thought of using the same old decorations and wreaths for another year leave you with a terminal case of the blahs? Then come to hear Mrs. Lille Haworth of the Royal Botanical Garden give a lecture/demonstration on Christmas decorations for all the house. She will show you how to make wreaths for the front door, swags for the walls and table ornaments for center- pieces using evergreen branches and _ boughs sparkled with bows and other special touches. Mrs. Haworth will bring the mechanics and supplies for making these decora- tions and they will be for sale at the same price they are sold for in the Gift Shop at the Royal Botanical Garden. Date: Thursday, October 31 Time: 7:00 p.m. Place: Conference Room - Rec Centre Admission free! This programme is fund- ed by the Outreach. Pro- gramme of the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture. The interest in the pro- posed league is expanding. To date it looks like we will operate a Men's A & B League, also a Youth League, and we hope newcomers both Male and Female will register for these new leagues. It is our intention to Squash and Raquetball Report commence the league November 4th so the registration deadline is quickly approaching. There is no fee to join these leagues. Free use of equipment will be provided for league participants during the month of November. We would like to see more in- volvement so let's hear from you. Squash and Racquetball Clinic discussions are presently underway with Fitness Ontario Co- ordinator to conduct clinics in Terrace Bay both for ex- perienced players as well as beginners. Instructions will be provided by qualified instructors from Thunder Bay. Anyone par- ticipating in the league will have the opportunity to sit in on these clinics as they will address the leagues. X The planned roads will provide primary access for stands allocated for harvest, promoting better forest management and increased Crown land recreational opportunities. : This project is being planned subject to condition No. 3 of Ex- emption Order MNR-11/9 under the Environmental Assessment Act, which requires the application of the planning procedure outlined in the approved Class E.A. for Access Roads to MNR Facilities. This project includes the determination of the specific alignments of primary access roads within approved corridors. Up to 19 km of new road construction are planned by 1991. Master of Ceremonies, Rick St. Louis began the evening by asking for a minute of silence in memory of Ken LeBlanc. He then called on Mary Pat Russell to say grace after which everyone sat down to a delicious meal catered by Fay Figliomeni. After supper, Rick introduced Linda Sodaro, President of the mixed league who presented trophies donated by OV to Jody's. Then Rick introduced the 1985 Men's Executive and presented each member with a plaque. President - R. Smeltzer; Vice Presi- dent - Mike Stortini; Treasurer - K. Fischer; Secretary - K. Papineau; Statistician - L. Orlesky and Umpire-in-Chief - B. Gugelyk. The Season Champion- ship Plaque and cooler bags donated by OV were presented to the Tigers and then the Kimberly-Clark playoff trophy and_ in- dividual trophies were presented to Grenier's Bandits. Finally Rick announced that meetings to elect the 1986 executives would be held the following week, Wednesday October 9th for mixed and Thursday, Oc- tober 10th for men's. The evening closed with a well attended dance to the music of the Stereo Club. The mixed meeting was postponed indefinitely due to lack of response.
