Hi everyone. Time again for a few words. You know folks I 'still have not written any prize winning books, but then after all at my. age I have to be careful not to strain my brain or over-work myself, but I enjoy what I do any way and right now by Helene Ballard Last Wednesday, Of- ficer Fenton, of the Terrace Bay Police came to Bir- chwood to show us a film on Drugs. Although I don't think there is much danger of any of the Residents get- ting into drugs, it was quite an eye opener to see what drugs can do to the human would be a good place and mind. We would like to time to Thank you people thank Officer Fenton for who take the time to phone his time in paying us a me or talk to me on the street and who tell me how much they enjoy my ef- forts. This means a lot to me so "Thank-You" very much for your calls and comments. Speaking of calls, I received one from a gentleman who wanted to know who put the Bit to get the services of a local op- tometrist, so a person could have their eyes tested here, instead of having to travel to Thunder Bay. The return bus fare plus meals all adds up, besides sometimes even having to stay over- night, which means hotel fares and getting from the bus station to the stores. To quote this gentleman, '*They have a vet come to take care of the dogs and cats in town, why not take better care of our needs as well." So if there are any ideas out there, to solve this problem, lets hear it. This week my bite is about our youngsters and their "bikes". Last Mon- day when we had to go in- to the office at the Recrea- tion Center to register, we had to step over and around bikes to get into and out of the building. The children just drop their bikes on the sidewalk and leave them there. Now come on kids, please try to be more thoughtful of others, park your bikes someplace else besides the entrance to public buildings. Also on this same subject, there are still kids who take a short cut through the driveway of the Home.
