New Discipline Policy The new Discipline policy at the Terrace Bay Recreation Center went in- to effect on March 25th and it states clearly the policy's objectives. "'To promote the public use and enjoy- ment of community recrea- tion facilities and pro- grams, to minimize costs of maintenance due to van- dalism, to provide for the safe and orderly conduct of recreation programs Magnus Theatre and Fire On April 11, 1985, Magnus Theatre will unveil the World Premiere of the evangelic rock musical Fire by Paul Ledoux and David Young. Created by the team that captured the na- tional imagination with the premiere of I Love You Anne Murray last April, Fire is an exploration of the instincts that gave birth to both the early rock-a-billy music of the 1950's and the marriage of Christian fun- damentalism and politics in the 1980's. Like the hit recordings that have influenced all our lives Fire is divided into sides. Side A (Act 1) takes place in the years 1957-1961 and tells of the meteoric rise and fall of Cale Blackwell (Peter Willson). Cale is a young man who temporarily breaks out of his Baptist upbringing by playing what ' his conscience says is '*Satan's" music and what we have come to know as Rock and Roll. Side B (Act 2) takes place in the years 1978-80 ' and follows the life of Herschell Blackwell (Jerry Franken), Cale's brother and a man equally as devoted to putting Jesus in- to the hearts of millions as _ his brother was to singing the praises of the evil. Herschell does this each Sunday through - the medium of the 'electronic pulpit', his power becom- ing so strong that he is ac- tually in a position to deter- mine the outcome of a Senatorial election. The inspiration for both of these men has come through their shared love of Molly King (Janet Land), and it is her personal strug- gle to come to terms with Jesus that moves the story along to its powerful and moving end. Combining early rock and roll hits such as Good Golly Miss Molly and rousing evangelistic numbers such as I Saw The Light, Fire promises to be "We need you."
