Our first three meetings have been centered around the topic of snowmobiles. Constable Russell Philips has brought in three films on snowmobile safety. He has also provided two pam- phlets called, "Recreational Vehicles Handbook" (put out by the Ministry of Transportation and Com- munications) and "Proper- ty Protection and Outdoor Opportunities" (put out by the Ministry of the At- torney General). He has talked about the films, the pamphlets, and answered questions. He also spoke of the possibility of arranging a course to qualify in- terested Scouts of any age for a Snowmobile Operators License. Thank you, Russ. At another meeting, Motors showed us the basics of Snowmobile Care and Maintenance. He described safety pro- cedures and mentioned ar- ticles that you should carry with you in the event of an emergency breakdown. Thank you, Joe, this was very educational. The rest of the Scouting year will hopefully include the following activities: at- tending a Town Council meeting, building model planes, 'winter camping, hikes, black and white film developing, a tour of Kimberly-Clark "Mill, swimming at the Marathon pool, and a canoe trip. If everything goes as planned it should be a busy and rewarding year. Thank you to all those whose time and energy has made Scouting possible in Terrace Bay. --The Terrace Bay Boy Scouts.
