Jamboree Weekly Update At the North Shore Rec Directors Ringette Jamboree committee meeting of October 30th, Terry Bryson in- formed us he has re- ceived confirmation that at least eight communi- ties will bring teams. This brings our expect- ed attendance to 140 girls in addition to dir- ectors, coaches and parents. Our billet convenor © went into shock! Each week our re- port stresses our urgent and desperate need for homes to billet these girls in. And each week, our report repeats how poor response has been to our call for help in this area. This report is iden- tical! Only with more desperation! Ail you potential homes out there, please note: ~ 1) You do not have to be involved with rin- gette to help us here. 2) You will only take your billet for two nights, Friday and Sat- urday November 23rd and 24th/84 3) You will be pro- viding two meals, both breakfasts, the morn- ings of Saturday and Sunday November 24 and 25th, 1984. 4) Our deadline for scheduling 140 billets is November 14th, how- ever, the sooner the better! Call the Rec Center at 5-3542 if you can help. We have the major 'task of arranging an or- ganized schedule for these young' girls. We should be able to send a copy of these arrange- ments at least a week before the Jamboree to the different teams at- tending. Please help us? Are You Still There? y MARY HUBELIT All I wanted to say was: Try to find some- thing beautiful in na- ture's moods to refresh you even when Life's weather is foggy, and: Life is an on-going self- improvement _experi- ence, not a six-week course you can take by mail. So what happened? One of the media's fa- vorite démons, the typographical error, or 'typo', printed "1983"' for "1938", which, of course, completely null- ified the message in my last article. I hope you saw through this little boo-boo and will be tolerant of some person possibly so young he or she cannot imagine life going on as far back as 1938. Meantime, the wea- ther book indicates this could be a real mean November. Hang in there! Lovely Christmas is coming!
