Maximum par- ticipation will be 24 youngsters. Call today to register. Length of pro- gram, October to April. Held every Saturday from 10-12 noon. Body Building We have secured an in-' structor to enable the department to offer Ladies and Youth body building. Learn proper lifting techni- ques, diet etc. Give us a call if interested. Ringette Jamboree We are still in need of families who will accept girls between the ages of 9-12 in their home for Fri- day, November 24 and Saturday, November 25th. Approximately 120 girls will be involved in this pro- ject. Call 3542 if you are able to. assist. Your assistance would be appreciated. Milers Club The interest in this ac- tivity is growing. Participa- tion is our objective. The program offers three achievement awards. First for completing 100 miles, second 700 miles, third 2000 miles. Participants can bike, walk, run and must record miles weekly at the office. New Programs We are planning for our Winter/Spring courses to begin by January and would like to hear from you. New program sugges- tions are welcome. Instruc- tors are needed as well. We are presently looking for instructors for: Folk and - Ballroom Dancing, Word Processing, and Sign Language. Give us a call. '*Let's hear from you."' Programs: Ladies Body Building (Eleanor Depaola) The date set for the beginning of the Ladies Body Building course is Monday Nov. 5. This course will run 4 nights per week for 4 weeks. There will be two class times, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. At present the * 7:00 to 8:00 class is full but there is still room in the earlier class. The days of the week these classes will run will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Call us today if you are interested. We are hoping to have a body building course for Youths also under the instruction of Eleanor Depaola, if you are interested call the Recreation office today. The Squash and Rac- quetball Tournament originally set for October 26th and 27th has been - postponed until the first or second week in December. Watch this column for a definite date on these two tournaments. We still have room for more registration in the following courses: Conversational French - due to start in January Geneology - November 24 - one day only Wise Money Management - December Ist'- one day only. Adult Racquetball Lessons - November 12-15th Wen-Do Intermediate - we are taking. names for a course hopefully to be set up soon. Programs: : We wish to inform those wanting to parti- cipate in the one day course on Geneology, that this course has been changed to November 17th. This course will be offered free of charge and will be only 3 to 4 hours long. No matter who you are, your family or ancestors have once been part of history. Wouldn't it be fascinating to learn how to trace your ancestry and then keep a record of your own life style now to be presented to Schreiber Ringette Program The Ringette Program commenced Sunday, Oc- tober 28th. The program is open for girls ages 8 to 16 and practice time is Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. Anyone interested in this program should contact the Recreation Office at 824-2317. The North Shore Direc- tors will be hosting a Ringette Jamboree for girls ages 9 to 12 in Terrace Bay on November 23, 24, 25. An instruction clinic will -be held Saturday morning the 24th and this clinic is open to all who are in- terested. For more infor- mation please, contact the Recreation Co-ordinator at 824-2317. Public Skate Hours Public Skating hours at the arena have been rescheduled to the follow- ing times: Monday 12:00 noon to 1:45 Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Thursday 12:00 noon to 1:45 Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday 2:15 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Learn to Skate The Learn to Skate will future generations. You should bring pencils, birth certificates, mar- riage and death' certi- ficates or as much infor- mation as you may have. Times for this course is 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m: begin Monday, November 5. The program runs each Monday and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:00 and is open to all pre- school children. Parents if they so wish may go on the ice with their child but this is not mandatory. For more information please. contact the Recreation Office. Fitness Room A reminder to all that you must have a Fitness Room Membership in order to use the room. The Fitness Room is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Also note that Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 are for women only. Games Room The Games Room reopened Monday, Oc- tober 22 with all new ex- citing games. The room is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Saturday 10:00. a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Please note that weekend hours are subject to change. Minor Skate-a-thon The Minor Hockey Skate-a-thon takes place Saturday November 3rd from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. All are encouraged to come out and skate and support minor hockey. Trophies will be handed Out to individuals collecting the most money in the following categories: 8 years and under' 9 to 12 years; 13 years and over.
