A meeting was held with interested parties regarding the possible uses for the land available. Over 600 people made use of the less than adequate facility this summer. An enthusiastic group of people are interested in purchasing a dishwasher for the arena. The price is high and will require a great deal of fundraising activity. A contract has been negotiated with the arena staff which includes a microwave oven for the lunch room. Councillor Quinton reported that paving has been completed and they are pleased with the con- tractor. With subsidies, the total cost to the township was $14,000. A snow plow wing needs replacing so that the bor- rowed one can be returned. For more effective snow removal, a 1972 tractor also needs replacing. 22 building permits were issued in September in- apartment building and one commer- cial. It was suggested that permits be cancelled if work has not begun within a certain time period following the issuance of the permit.
