The les- sons are conducted un- der the instruction of Frank Valente of the Academy of Musical Arts of Thunder Bay, and are held once per week at the Recreation Centre. Fall Programs If anyone has any pro- gram that they would like to see offered in the fall please contact the Recreation Office as soon as possible. All suggestions are wel- come. The schedule is in the final stages and will soon be confirmed. Slowpitch Tourney You won't want to miss the action at the Schreiber Ball Field August 16, 17,\18 as the Schreiber ed Slow- pitch League holds their Chepineme t ourna- ment. Games will start Thursday evening and run Friday evening, all day Saturday with the Championship Games' on Sunday. Be sure to get out to the Ball Field to catch these exciting games!! Swim Program The Swim Staff would like to thank the parents for making an appear- ance at our Annual Pa- rent Day. Thank you. On-August 14 the jud- ging for the poster and poetry contest will begin. Prizes of water safety towels will be handed out for the best poster, and the best poem. So come on kids get those pens and paper out and design a poster or a poem or even both. August 17 sees the last day for the second session of swim les- sons. A fun day will be held at White Sand Lake beginning at 9:00 a.m. The bus will leave the Legion at 8:30 a.m. and © return at 1:00 p.m. Bad- ges and report cards will be handed out at this time. Summer Fun Program Youth Drop In The Youth Drop In is hosting a Badminton Tournament August 15 in the Schreiber Recrea- tion Complex. The tour- nament is open to per- sons 8 years old and over. Anyone interest- ed may register at the Youth Drop In Office in one of the following categories: 8 to 12 years, 13 to 15 years, 16 to 18 years and 19 and over. An exciting event for kids 8 to 10 to look for- ward to is the Schreiber Sports Fest. This event will be held on August 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Schrei- ber High School.
