Y La Terrace Bay Horticultural Society The Terrace Bay Horticultural Society held its Annual Gener- al Meeting on October 11th, in the Recreation Centre Meeting Room. There were 13 members present. The President, Peter Monks, reported that we had had a good year for our Society; hosting the District 14 Annual General Meeting in May, planting flower beds outside the bank, in the park area, the hospital and, for the first time, in the cemetery. For the first time we are planting spring bulbs in two beds this fall, in the hospital and at the cemetery. We _ also planted another tree this year to commemorate the District 14 Annual General Meeting. The following Offi- cers and Directors were elected to hold office. President - Peter Monks; Ist Vice - Hyacinthe Landry; 2nd Vice - Walter Bige- low; Treasurer' - Czeslawa Jakubowski; Secretary -Cheryl Hod- gins. Directors are: Hyacinthe Landry, Ted Jakubowki, Cora Rop- chan, Teresa Landry (all serving 2nd year in office), Duncan Mac- kay, Doris Walton, Daphne Monks, Iris Lindberg, Walter Bige- low and Roger Four- nier. After the business part of the meeting Peter Monks presented the Home Beautifica- tion Awards to the win- ners for this year. We would like to thank Kimberly-Clark for their continued help in spon- soring this project. The winners were: (Homes over 4 years old) Ist: Mr. and Mrs. €E. Persson ($100); 2nd: Mr. and Mrs. A.
