Summer Fun News The Schreiber Sum- mer Fun Staff are still recuperating from the Rainbow Falls camping trip of July. 9 and 10. Twenty children of ages 8 to 12 participated in a weekend involving swimming, scavenger hunts, sport- activities, and a big bon fire sing song. A special note of thanks to those parents having contributed to the success of this camp- ing excursion. " On Friday July 1Sth a trip to Nor-Shore: mines was staged. Lorne Bourke assisted pro- gram leaders in provid- ing an informative and interesting hike. Schreiber Youth have also been enjoying the opportunity of partici- pating in various sports and recreational activi- ties at the recreation complex. All local youth are cordially invited to drop by the complex and join in on the fun. North Shore Sports Fest Attention ~ parents! The North Shore. Rec- reation Directors will be sponsoring a Sports Fest on Wednesday August . 3rd in Manitouwadge. The event will feature soccer, tennis, base- ball and track and field activities. Twenty boys and girls of ages 8 to 10 years can participate in this unique and excit- ing event. Members of the Summer Fun Staff will chaperone / supervise the children throughout the event. Tot Drop-In The Schreiber Tot Drop-In has been suc- cessful and has at- tracted an average of. twenty tots per ses- sion. The Hospital for Sick Children's Mobile Hear- ing Clinic is dedicated to detecting hearing loss in young children so that they can reach their fullest potential. Speech sounds are made by repeating what the child hears others saying to him. Even a slight hearing impair- ment can make a drastic difference in a child's ability to develop good language skills.
