The Director of Education reviewed the Ministry Regional Re=- view Report on "The Formative Years", which is a combined re= view of both the Geraldton District R.C.S.S. Board and The North of Superior District R.C.S.S. Board. The Board was provided with an interin report of objectives adopted by the Principals. The Minister of Education has directed all Boards to begin the implementation of an Early Indentification Program by Sept. 1979. |t was noted that this Board already has such a program. The Director of Education reviewed the Ministry of Education memo regarding the Solar Eclipse on February 26, 1979, and ad- vised the Board of the action the Principals will be taking to ensure the safety of the students during the period of the eclipse. TWO DAY ASSEMBLY The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society will sponsor a two day assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses to be held in Lakeview High School, near Boulevard Lake in Thunder Bay on Mar. 3 & &. Delegates are expected from many points throughout North- western Ontario. Represented will be Manitouwadge, Geraldton, - Terrace Bay, Nipigon, Kakabeka Falls and 3 city congregations. Doug Peeling, local spokesman, said that at least 7 persons would be present from Terrace Bay. Presiding ministers throughout the area have been encoura- ging their entire congregations to attend both days, for the program has been designed to aid each one present. As the Witnesses do nat hold special classes for the young, it has become a common sight to see whole families, even babes in arms at their assemblies. The young are brought to meetings from infancy, and grow to adulthood realizing that religious instruction and meetings are an integral part of a Christian's life. The assembly theme "Keeping Clean and Zealous for Fine Works" shows the serious aspect of the gathering. Visiting speakers inclrde Robert Alton and Alvin Stromgren from Toronto headquarters. Mr. Alton will deliver the feat- ure address "A Cleansed Earth = Will You Live to See It?" on Sunday 'at 2 p.m.
