GUIDES AND BROWNIES CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY The 25th Annual Mother & Daughter Banquet was held Sun- day, February 18th in the Moose Hall. Master of Ceremonies, Janet Chappel welcomed everyone. Following presentation of Colours and 0'Canada, the World Hunter Grace was sung. Toast to the Queen was proposed by Krista Ditchfield, Toast to the Mothers by Joanne Lalonde. Mrs. Barb Lalonde * replied on behalf of the Mothers, thanking the girls for the Toast and the leaders for their work with the girls. The menu featured a turkey supper. After the singing of the 25 year song and Happy Birthday, thirteen little girls who have just become Brownies this year blew out the 25 can- dles that were on two beautifully decorated cakes. Many thanks to the Mothers who organized and helped prepare the event. Mrs. Barb Wise and daughter Debbie travelled from New York ,State to attend. Debbie was presented with the All Round Cord which she had earned while a member of our Guide Company. In recognition of achieving the cord, Debbie's name has been engraved on the Guide Award Shield for 1979. Heather Saran- paa presented Debbie with the shield. Tracey Stachiw, reaffiming her Guide Promise, was enroll- ed as a Cadet by Mrs. Cathy Geldreich. Tracey works with the Brownies of 2nd Pack. Ingrid Fournier, on behalf of the Local Association, ann= ounced that a Guide spoon would be sent to Mrs. Robbie Vel- anoff, in appreciation of her work done as a member of the LeAs Debbie Helmink of the Terrace Bay News was presented with a certificate of appreciation from Aguasabon District for the support the news has given to the (Guide movement over the years.
