LASSIE AND JUNIOR GIRLS TRAVEL TO MANITOUWADGE Both the Lassie & Junior Girls Zone Playdowns were held this past weekend in Manitouwadge. The Lassies team consisting of Skip Marianne McDougall, 3rd Pat Fenton, 2nd Julie Randa and Lead Cheryl Dejonghe had a hard weekend of curling, losing their first three games. However, the team pulled together in their fourth game to win quite handily over Manitouwadge eliminating Manitouwadge's chances for a play off with Marathon for first place. The Marathon team will now travel to Thunder Bay to repre- sent our Zone in the District playdowns. JUNIOR GIRLS - Junior Girlscteam consisted of Skip Tammy 0'Neil, 3rd Martha Kingston, 2nd Mona Dakin and Lead Carol Moore. The Terrace Bay girls and Manitouwadge girls played the best two out of three. In the first game the Terrace Bay girls led all the way through up to the ninth end where Mani touwadge team tied it up and went on to win by one point. In the second game, the Terrace Bay girls were one down com- ing home and were unable to tie it up. The girls put on a fine performance and we're all very proud of them. A special thanks to Mrs. Ida Romanuk and Mrs. Mary 0'Neil for travelling with the girls.
