SCHREIBER SOCIAL: Dick Warder, his son Randy and Lawrence Lamhear of Hay- ward, Wisc. visited Normand and Ruth Bottomley this week, and other old friends in town. Chris Morris has returned home after a round of family visiting in Brandon, with her mother, Mrs. Tressia Spanton; her brother Ted and her son Ron and his family. En route home she paid a surprise visit to girlhood friend, May Gladue whom she had not seen for thirty years. Among the many summer visitors with Russell and Beth Macadam were Mr. and Mrs. Colin Collins of Campbellford, Ont; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Baldwin and Mrs. Orene Macadam of Win- nipeg; Joyce and Ray Nott of Carrying Place, Ont,; Linda and Ken Nott of Belleville and Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Dejeet with Ritchie and Susan of Oshawa. For Mr. Collins and Mr. Macadam it was a happy reunion - the first time in thirty years when they met while they were both employed with The Clock Shop in Toronto. Faith (England) Burridge and her husband Bill and Laurie England and his wife Doris of Toronto spent a couple of days enjoying meeting with childhood friends of Faith's and Laurie's. It's merely a rumour, that Mark and Marg Doig at Walker Lake are going to be charged with a Resort licence - but, as usual their visitors have included Don and Anne Joyner and daughter Irla of Montreal; Hank And Veta Bertelson of Coquitam B.C.; Roger and Mildred Mitts of Coqui tam, B.C.; Laverpe and Shirley Buck of Carrying Place, Ontario and Earl and Evelyn Chard of Trenton, Ontario. Janice Cluett was honoured at a community shower held in the Anglican Church Hall on July 30th, when she was assisted ~ in receiving by Mrs. Joyce Gilmore = her sister; Mrs. D.Q. Hamilton = her mother and Mrs. Donald Stewart - her fiance's mother. Deborah Stewart was the tea hostess and the servitors were Rosemary Alfarano, Cathy Brooks, Linda Nesbjtt, Lorraine Prill and Debbie Schmiedchen. The tea pourers were Bina Welbourne, Peggy Smith, Ruth Collinson and Helen Stokes. Fran Nesbitt, Dorothy Lengyel and Retta Pearson replenished and the gifts were opened by Lisa Dawn Stewart and Linda Stewart. The guest book was attended to by Cheryl Prill. ROSSPORT SOCIAL: Narcius and D'Arcy Bain are visiting relatives in Winnipeg this summer, while the Schroeder fanily are holidaying in Western Ontario. Romeo and Cathline Bouchard are on a camp- ing holiday with relatives in Dal ton, Ontario. Relatives honoured Mrs. Freda Gerow with a surprise birth ~day party on Tuesday evening at their house trailer. Mrs. Leisander made and decorated the birthday cake. Those pre- sent besides Freda and Gilbert Gerow were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gerow of Halifax; Michael Gerow of Edmonton; Jim and Cathy Duggan and family of Schreiber; Pat, Leona and Devona Lejsan- der, Prina and Cathy Gerow, Jack and Patsey Campbell all of Rossport and Mrs, Gerow's parents, Mr, and Mrs, Bob Winters of Schreiber. An evening of music, singing and dancing was enjoyed, EXPERIENCE '78 PROJECTS Schreiber Township is benefiting from the hiring of three youths whose task it is to provide various recreation activi- ties for preteens and teens and to offer them a place to soc- ialize with their own age groups. This program is funded at a cost of $3187. Grants totalling $536,841 under the Ontario Home Renewal Pro -gran (OHRP), have been allocated to 15 municipalities, Housing Minister Claude Bennett announced. OHRP provides per capita grants to Ontario municipalities ~ to administer directly as loans to homeowner occupants to re- pair their houses to an acceptable municipal minimum standard. The Township of Schreiber will receive a grant in the amount of $40,000,
