" After a short honeymoon to Espanola and Sudbury the happy couple will reside at 3 Pine Crescent, Terrace Bay. Before the marriage the bride was honoured with a shower in St. Martin's Church basement. Hostesses were Sheila Dakin, Clair Roen and Judy Carman. HOME FOR THE AGED BOARD MEETING The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Management of the District of Thunder Bay Home for the Aged was held on Friday, July 21st at Pinewood Court. The routine business included accounts totalling $108,137.- 96 for Pinewood Court and Birchwood Terrace were passed for payment. Generally the meeting dealt with the discussion on what plans should be made for Seniors in the Communities re- quiring accommodation especially, the present waiting list. - The end result of the discussion was the Administrator, Mr. Milton J. Vibert, was requested to do a detailed study of Senior Citizens presently in the two Homes and residents over sixty-five (65) living in the sixteen (16) Municipalities and the unorganized areas. The follow up of the brief that was given to the Board on future planning for Residential Care and Extended Care would be a cost estimate for this type of accommodation. When the Board has this information they will proceed to inform the Municipalities for their input. The end result should be a five year flexible plan for meeting the needs of the area. Board and staff members, while attending the Convention in Toronto will be questioning Government Officials on their plans for the future. Presently, capital funds are restrict- ed, however, the Board feels that eventually funds will be available and the time for planning and registering their intentions should be stated now. The next Board meeting was slated for August 25th.
