Mrs. Georgina Davis P.N.G. is attending the Assembly Ses- sions in Toronto this week as representative from the Lodge. Mre and Mrs. Alvin Slater are also attending the Sessions. Mrs. Hamilton reported sending sympathy cards to bereaved members and get well cards to members i11 in hospital or at home. Mrs. Clemens reported on the C.P,T, meeting held on June 5. The Noble Grand thanked all who had donated baking or money to the recent Bake Sale and to Mrs. Cebrario for supplying space in her store. The inaugural meeting of District Association #1 will be held on Sat. June 24 in the 1.0,0.F, Hall S, May St., Thunder Bay. Luncheon 1:15 p.m., meeting at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Myrtle Gordon and Mrs. Georgina Davis are the representatives to this meeting. All Past Noble Grands are invited to attend. Mrs. G, Hamilton led in a Memorial Service for all departed members. A pot Tuck lunch and social hour will follow the next meet- ing on June 28th, Mrs. Hamilton won the Draw of the evening. SCHREIBER MEETINGS C«W.L. The May meeting of Holy Angels! C,W.L. was held on the 14th. Reports on the C.W.L. convention held at St. Patrick's Cathe- dral, Thunder Bay, May 9, 10 and 11, were given. This was at- tended by Mrs. W, Stefurak, Mrs. M, McGrath, Mrs. H. McParland and Mrs. D, McGuire. Past President crested spoons were pre- sented to Mrs. D. McGuire and Mrs. H, Shack. The monthly meeting for June was held Sunday, June 11th at the Parish Centre. The meeting opened with a prayer, President, Mrs. Kay Stefurak, 'was in the chair. Sister Marvel gave the scripture reading. read the minutes of the last meeting and executive meeting. Mrs. N. Lemieux gave the treasurer's report and correspondence was read by Mrs. E. Borutski. Mrs. W. Mullins reported on the membership tea held May 27th after 7:15 Mass. The membership drive should be completed by the end of June. A draw for an accumulated. jackpot will commence with the Sept. meeting. Christian family (ife convenor, Mrs. H. McParland, reported on the barbeque the Brownies and Mothers held at Rainbow Falls on Wednesday, June 7th. She also stated new drapes would be purchased for the Parish Centre. Fr. Meyer spoke on Bishop Jenning's 37th anniversary as a Bishop and it was decided to send him a cash donation for him to say a Mass for his own intention. The President thanked the ladies who served the breakfast after the First Communion, June 4th. The convenors for Labour Day will be Mrs. G.A. Scott and Mrs. E. Fummerton. The meeting then adjourned and a cake walk was held wi th those winning cakes being: Sister Marvel; Mrs. Carla Maronese; Mrs. Gloria Mullins and Mrs. | rene Gillen. 4 CE Mrs. G, McParland WOMEN'S INSTITUTE MEETING A pot Tuck supper preceded the June meeting of the Women's Institute held in Mrs. Mavis Slater's home. Motto of the 4 meeting was "A vacation is a holiday from everything except expenses". The roll call was answered by giving a recipe for a-summer dinner. Current events were discussed. Information was received on the area convention, being held in Dryden, September 14 and 15. Mrs. Wesley Clemens was '4 appointed to attend as delegate. Donations were sent to the Tocal Curling Club and new arena fund. Mrs. Clemens was appointed to present the W.l. bursary to a deserving student at the Public School graduation ceremony in-Terrace Bay on June 22nd. A gift will be sent to Mrs. Fred Harness for providing transnortation for nine members who attended the district ane nual mesting in Thunder Bay. Pictures, articles and recipes were handed in to be used = in a Bride's Book by Mrs. John Spillane. Program books for the year will be planned at a later date this month. A social hour followed the meeting. : ART CLUB ANNUAL SHOW The Schreiber Art Club held its annual showing on June 3rd ¥ and 4th with an attendance of over 200, from Marathon, Ter-. race Bay, Nipigon and Red Rock Art Clubs; local people and visitors, Some 150 exhibits were on display including a special group from the junior art group (children) sponsored by the Schrei- ber Recreation Association with Colleen Moore as instructor, assisted by Patsy Beno and. Gwen Hadley. The show displayed many mediums and techniques and the sub- jects included seascapes, landscapes, still Tife, portrait figure works, captoons, animals and birds. A gratifying num- ber of drawings and paintings were sold. A painting by Birdie Romanec was won in a draw by Eddie Duffy, ticket drawn by Ryan LeBlanc. : The door prize painting, by Gwen Hadley was won by George Riley, ticket drawn by Mary Tees of Marathon. Tea was served at both afternoon and evening sessions and all club members worked in various capacities during the two day showing.
