Schreiber Parks and Recreation CHINESE COOKING: Nineteen people in Schreiber attended the course, which was taught by Mr. Ling Lee from Confederation College, in Thunder Bay. Everyone found it very beneficial. MINOR BASEBALL: There are registration forms in the schools for children from age 5 to 16 years to fill in and return to the recreation office as quickly as possible. The faster these are returned the sooner team selection, scheduling and games can be started. LADIES & MEN BASEBALL: The recreation office is still of- fering their assistance in foming mens & ladies baseball for summer of 78. |[f there is not an indication of inter' est within two weeks, the individuals will need to take the initiative themselves. BALL HOCKEY: There has been a very small interest in ball hockey, again if there is not a sudden increase of parti- cipants this will be let go, until next year. TENNIS MEMBERSHIPS: The Tennis memberships have been receiv -ed at the recreation office, and are being offered at $10. per family for the summer, $5. per individual. While on the subject of tennis it seems that someone or some persons thought the tennis courts were for other than fennis and pulled down a section of the fencing and ruined a net. These will be repaired, but are costly to do and means an expenditure from the recreation budget higher than antici- pated. Please, remember this facility is for your enjoyment as well as the other people that play tennis. If it contin -ues, two things can happen firstly, repair which becomes costly and higher budgeted amounts which means a continuous increase of taxes or secondly, no repairs, resulting in closure and no tennis. 7 CONFEDERATION COLLEGE PROGRAMS: The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Department and Confederation College are trying to compile a list of interest programs for the fall of 1978 and winter of 1979. If you have an interest and know others who share it please give us a call at 824-2311.
