Ramsay, P. Romanuk and K. Macleod; Clerk Co-ordinator W. Hanley and M. Simmer. The minutes of the regular and special meetings were adopted as presented. Council moved to publish a proclamation of National Week on Mental Retardation. It was agreed to allow the Nipigon Legion to sell tickets for it's fish derby and to allow the Guides and Brownies to canvass the town on Cookie Day, May 10th, A motion was made to appoint David Rodgers to complete the ~ tem of Audrey Hara on the Recreation Board. Council made a resolution to acquire Tot 275, Kenogami Road for a tot Tot and to acquire lot 1, South Camp. Upon request from the Ministry of Environment, Council passed a by-law to administer a program for the collection of derilict motor vehicles and their delivery to a designated si te. Prior to that she was Supervising Principal of the Kenora District Separate School Board for a period of seven years. i Miss Twomey is originally from Winnipeg, where she studied at the University of Manitoba. ; The appointment of Miss Twomey to the position of Director of Education, marks the first time a sth] board in Ontario has named a woman as its Chief Executive Officer.
