Minutes were read and bills presented were approved for payment. arranged, The Corrusponding Secretary, Lillian Christie was asked to express the appreciation of the Auxiliary to the Terrace Bay Municipal Office for the assistance given printing the monthly newsletter, Birchwood Banter. Fees were approved to join the Ontario Association of Homes for the Aged. Past President Donna Josus offered to stand for nomination as Bulletin Editor for the Association. Mina Mahon- ey would be available to attend the Regional Meeting in Fort Frances May 31st. A letter was to go to the Terrace Bay Kinettes requesting they continue their regular Bingo through the summer months with the Auxiliary sponsoring same. This was proposed on al ternate months with: the Auxiliary who would hold Games Night. Hilda Hiebert forwarded a request from a resident for heavy mategials to be used in braiding rugs. Reviewing the successful Games Night of the previous evening, many suggestions were offered for future even- ings. The President thanked those who had helped and felt there had been excellent par- ticipation. Sick and Visiting report was given by Estelle Wallwin of two cards to hospitalized residents and two cards of sympathy. Report for the Volunteer Service was given by Gertrude Cotton. Betty Usher suggested the residents might enjoy a pro ject of their own, such as one for the Hospital Building Fund. Blanche Speck as mem- ber of the Horizon Group or part of the Resident's Coun- cil, was asked to present this at their next meeting. Support would be given by the Auxiliary. To date walks with the residents have been impossible due to the continuing icy con ~di tions. It was decided all mem~ bers would be contacted for the Forthcoming Bake Sale on May 6th at 2 o'clock in Birchwood Terrace Lobby. Canvassing would be done by Beth Macadam, Winnie Clemens and Lil Christie in Schreiber; Gerturde Cotton, Estelle ° Wallwin and Peggy Thompson in Terrace Bay, with further assistance in pick-ups and selling.
