APRIL 26, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 SCHOOL NEWS: From pg. 2 HIGH SCHOOL BADMINTON - The Lake Superior High School Badminton Team attended the NeWe0.SeS.A. Tournament in Wawa on April 14th and 15th, The entire team Anna Racioppi, Elena Speziale, Tracey Stachiw, Norm Beaulieu, Oz Burhmann, Paul Dashkewytch, Mike Moher and Steve Sechesky fared very well. Special congratulations to Anna and Elena for their silver medal in the junior girls doubles, to Steve for his bronze in the senior boys singles and to Tracey and Mike for placing fourth in the junior mixed doubles. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE EVENTS On Sunday, March 5th, Terrace Bay Chapter 1426 was hostess Chapter for Chapter Rally Day. A-total of 131 members of Chapters from Dryden, Atikokan, Port Arthur and Fort William and Terrace Bay registered. These Chapters participated in the ritualistic ceremony. Phyllis Boutilier, Elizabeth Macleod, Pauline King, Kathy Burns and Violet Borassa were enrolled on this special day. Address of welcome was given by Marielle Tardif of Terrace Bay; response by Janet Johnson of Fort William; address of Maintenance for Moosehaven Halls by Helen Almos of Terrace Bay; address of Business Procedure by Joan Salminen of Port Arthur; address of Screening candidates by Rose Marginet of Dryden and address of Time to Sponsor Candidates by Gladys Poshtar of Fort William. After the adjournment a social hour was .held. Yvette Swirhun and Sybille Wenzloff of the Terrace Bay Chapter sang a few songs. "The Hillbilly Wedding" skit was perfomed by members of the Terrace Bay Chapter. A few members of the Fort William Chapter sang a few tricky numbers accompanied by hand made instruments. A Tovely supper was served by members of Lodge 1752. A beautiful cake was donated by Claire Northgrave. The cake was decorated in the Moose colours with a design of a moose head on it. On March 7th, Moosehaven Chaiman Aline Hart and her Com- mittee were in charge of the Chapter Night Programme. One enrolment took place. A raffle was held and a lovely lunch was served. April 4th, Membership Chai man Carmel Zborowski and her Committee were in charge of the Chapter night programme. A book sale and raffle were held. Yvonne Leclair won the raffle and Yvonne Vienneau won the pot of gold. A donation to the Terrace Bay-Schreiber Association for the Mentally Retarded will be given. 'Spring! was the theme of the table decora- tions. Flowered table cloths and 1i1lies adorned the table and a delicious lunch was served. The business meetings of March and April consisted of min- utes by Recorder adopted as read. Balloting on new candi- dates was favourable. A thank you card was received from Ann Todesco who received a gift while i11. The Women of the Moose have been requested to serve at a members wedding on dune 24th and cater to a members wedding on August 26th. The Moose Bowling Banquet and dance will take place on May 13th.
