PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 22, 1978 BRYANT: Funeral services ; for the late Mrs. Thomas Bryant, whose death occurred in Thunder Bay on February 1, 1978, were conducted in St. Andrew's United Church in Schretber on Feb- ruary 3rd by the Rev. Brian Bigelow, with Mrs. Wendy Martin | as organist. The senior choir led in singing the hymns "Unto The Hills" and "Nearer My God To Thee". Pallbearers were Charlie Holmes, Geoff Birch, Bill Weaver, Don Beno, Gino Caccamo and Philip Cocks. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Surviving is a sister Mary (Mrs. Wagner )of Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bryant was predeceased by her wogbard Tom in tifugist 1950 and by brothers Jack and Rudy Phillips and sisters Josephine (Mrs. J. Auld) and Alice (Mrs. W. Johnson). Mrs. Bryant, who was 89 years old, was born Hermine Phillips in Arnstein, Ontario in 1888 and came to Schreiber in 1908 to work. Here she met and married Thomas Bryant in 1912 and resided here until i111 health compelled her to live in Pine- wood Court since 1971. : The Bryant's had no children but she became "Auntie Min" to the entire-community. She was a life member of Silver Birch Chapter and also a long time member of Ruby Rebekah Lodge, who conducted their special service prior to the Church one. Her interest in community affairs ranged widely - she was ~ a devoted and much-loved Sunday School teacher for many years in St. Andrew's Church; a member of the once famous Ladies! Bowling League and was an ardent hockey fan. Among those attending the funeral from out of town were Philip Cocks of Toronto; W.R. Weaver and Len Crockford and other friends from Terrace Bay and the immediate district.
