Who are the people who do all of this in sub-zero temperatures and still enjoy it? These people are curlers.:As well as enjoying themselves, curlers make many' new friends and spend at least one night per week with their new found friends. Curling can do many good things to a per- son. It gives'you a chance to get out with friends and get some exercise. If you are in good physical condition, curling can help you stay that way. If your physical condition is not so hot, curling can help you improve. A curler can be almost anyone. A curler can be male or female, young or old, in great shape or in not too great shape. Join in the fun. ROSSPORT NEWS The Rossport Fire Department recently form- ed here, report that several smoke detectors have been delivered and more are on order. A survey of any fire fighting equipment is to be made that is owned by individuals and if the owners are willing to contribute same until financial help would enable the fire department to purchase their own equipment. It was noted that in the news letter that the Fund Raising Committee may eventually. end up as an auxiliary with Leona Leisander, Kathy Gerow, Patsey Cam- pbell, Charlotte Shipclark, Agnes Iddison, Dev- ona Leisander, Prina Gerow, and Camilla Legault A Bingo was planned to take place the end of the month. The organization has received some notice - from CBQ in Thunder Bay on our fire protection problems and a tentative plan is afoot to film a Human Interest News Clip for TV. The regular meeting has been cancelled until more information can be obtained towards financial aid. The Youth Organization had a huge success with their first dance of the year on Saturday night. It was a sock hop and Greaser type.en- tertainment. Music was by tape recorder. 01d and Young attended from Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Rossport and many fines were levied on those who did not wear the costumes of bobby socks, short skirts and trousers and slicked hair dos. Prina Gerow and Leona Leisander took admission and the Hall Committee acted as chap- erones for the event. The pop bar was in the hands of Devona Leisander. Practice is going on these days for a Chris- - tmas entertainment and the feature of the even- ing will be a Pantomine story of Christmas and Carols, followed by Dancing and refresh- ments.
