NOVEMBER 9, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 FIREMEN'S BAL The 46th Annual masquerade ball of the Schreiber Firemen was an outstanding success this year, with all tickets being sold well before the event. Gene Ross was chairman of the event and Mike Cosgrove the M.C. The judges for the costume prizes were Susan May of Toronto, " Theresa Zaporzan'of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and Madge Atkinson, a new-comer to Schreiber. First prize was won by Fire Hydrants - Jocelyn Gillett and Cathy Willan. Second prize went to Wizard of Oz characters - Dale Riley as the Scarecrow, Jewel Riley as the Tinman and Laureen Kay as the Lion. Third 'prize went to the Chickens - Ann Tack, Mary Anderson, Lurleen Blais, Brenda Birch and Terry Lynn Birch. j Honourable mentions were given to Big Birad, Count Dracula, A and W Root Beer and Co., and . the Dominoes. Eric Glad won the colour telédvision and Terry Armstrong, The Texas Micky and Danny Riley the door prize. Tommy Whitton's 83rd birthday on November 2,-was marked by a family dinner party, arrang ~-ed by his wife, in their home. Grandaughter Cathy Whitton presented Tommy with a button- iere and gifts.
