Informal meetings are held in members' homes monthly to acquaint those inter -ested with the physical, psychological and practical aspects of breastfeeding. LEGION BRANCH 223 SPORTS NEWS The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223 held their Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 25th. Some good golfing was seen, with Dick Rattray emerging as the mens winner and Addie Beaulieu, the ladies winner. Lunch was donated and prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary 223. Dorothy Coupal was the conven- or with it being served outside the Golf Club. "A social hour followed before David Peplinskie, Sports Committee presented the trophies and prizes. : The Royal Canadian Legion Sports Foundation hold an International Peace Garden Athletic Camp during the months of August and September. "Many camps are held with well-known coaches from around the world attending. Two. young boys from Terrace Bay completed their Run-a-lap at the Lake Superior Sports Track, with Pam Jones, Auxiliary Sports Commit- "tee in attendance. The boys ran fifty laps "doing a lap a minute for most of the time, _ which for a thirteen year old is very good time. Greg Kostiuk and Guy Kodila will attend a camp of their choice with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223 sponsoring them. They will pay the return bus fare to the Peace Gardens +in Manitoba. Both boys had town sponsors and raised money for their trip. Any amount over and above the camp fee for 1977 can be held in trust by the Peace Gardens Treasury Department until 1978, for use by other children. ' There are two other young people who were "hoping to attend a camp also, being financially . responsible themselves for camp fees instead of doing a Run-a-lap. GUIDING NEWS 'Nineteen Brownies of Pack II enjoyed a Pack Holiday at Polly Lake Girl Guide Camp on the weekend of June 17 - 19. The girls were divided into three groups, each one living in a separate cabin. Each group shared the camp duties in turn - assist cook to prepare food, cleanup after meals and haul water, clean the biffies, as well as keep their own house neat. Meals were eaten in the large hall attached to the cook house and due to rain, most activities were held there as well. An outdoor bar-b-que was held Sunday at lunch time. The Brownies worked on many projects, songs, skits and crafts to earn three badges - Holi- day, Space and Native Lore. At closing ceremonies, each Brownie receiv- ed the special crest marking the Queen's Jub- ilee, that will be worn by all members of the Guide organization. It is to be worn on the left cuff of the uniform.
