'JUNE 22, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 WOMEN'S INSTITUTE: Members of the Schreiber Women's Ihstitute answered the roll call at their June meeting by giving potato recipes for the bride's book which is to be presented to Mrs. Linda Speziale a recent bride. : Motto for the meeting was "Better to try something and succeed than do nothing and fail". In current events, members discussed the recent election; the retirement of the local post office staff and the Queen's Jubilee. Among the several notes of appreciation for cards and gifts was a special one from Mrs. : She expres -sed her pleasure in being able to attend both' the district annual meeting and the local 50th "anniversary, along with meeting so many old friends. Mrs. Reid was the first secretary- treasurer of the Schreiber W.I. Information was received on travel and bil- leting arrangements for delegates attending the Area Convention in Rainy River, Sept. 15 & 16. Mrs. Todesco presented a full report of the finances and.a list of business firms which had contributed to the District Annual meeting. The public library will be asked to accept the Institute plaque and a picture of Her Maj- esty, the Queen. Letters of congratulation from Premier Wil- liam Davis and W.I. Branches will be placed in the Tweedsmuir History Book . Program books will be prepared on June 28th in Mrs. Clemen's home, with all members asked to attend. Mrs. Mavis Slater won the attendahce prize.
