MOOSEHEART VISIT A round trip of sixteen hundred miles to Mooseheart, Illinois brought members of Lodge 1752 and Chapter 1426 of Terrace Bay to the child city. Eddy and Andre St. Denis who are former re- sidents of Terrace Bay were the guides of the tour. 'Lucille and Patty St. Denis were met. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Mooseheart. It is really something to see. Information of Mooseheart follows through- out the Terrace Bay News. : The group visited Lodge 400 in Aurora, Il- linois and Lodge 682 in Batavia where they were treated with the best of hospitality. MOOSEHEART The Child City Schools Muoseheart provides total education from nursery school through the 12th grade. Mooseheart is a member of the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and is supervised by the Department of Public Instruc- tion of the State of illinois. Each student graduating from Moose- heart High School receives not only a diploma but a vocational education cer- tilicate. Each" student is required to learn at least one {rade and must com- plete all requirements before he is awarded the vocational certificate. Red Rambler varsity football, basketball, track and wrestling teams are now competing in the Little Eight Conference. In addition, the intramural 'program includes baseball, basketball, touch football, track, swimming and softball. Girls also compete in Conference arch- ery, volleyball,, swimming, track and buwiing A standard physical education pro- gram for boys and girls is conducted in accordance with school regulations. The summer recreation program in- cludes archery. tenni$ and boating in addition to many of the sports listed above. Supreme Lodge The Supreme lodge of the World Loyal Order of Moose, which .owns and , bperates Mooseheart, is headquartered in the two-story, brick building of co- lonial architecture which was erected in 1956. The buiding is located near the front entrance to the campus of _ the Child City. < Acreage Mouscneart occupies 1,200 acres of 'ertile Fux River Valley land.
