Mrs. Clemens gave the Sick and Visiting report and Mrs. G. Hamilton reported on the recent Bake Sale. : Nominations of Officers was-held. A Memorial Service will be observed at the June 8th meeting. A "Bring and Buy" table will be held fol- lowing the May 25th meeting with a pot luck lunch to follow. Mrs. B. Jacomb won the attendance prize. It was reported that a Rebekah Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 12th at the funeral home, in memory of Mrs. Mary Davis - a member of the Lodge since May 27th, 1942. INEZ McKEVITT RETIRES AFTER 25 YEARS Inez McKevitt, who retired on May 6th, after 25 years' service with C.P. Rail office staff, was honoured at many occasions by her fellow employees and friends in Schreiber. Over forty attended a dinner in the Ross- port Inn, arranged by C.M. Makela and P.M. Dzioba with Chris Makela presenting Inez with a yellow rose corsage. W.E. Collinson, M.C. called on many who were delighted to recall episodes of earlier working days. At the dinner, Inez was flanked by her "boys" - four roadmasters on the "Division" ~_-G. Rioux from Cartier, R. Thibault from Chapleau, P.M. Dzioba from White River 'and V. McConnell of Schreiber. Every one of the Lake Superior Division was represented. In addition to those already men ~-tioned were: P.C. Fuller, B.P. Robbins, K. Peter, D. Guse, K. Sutherland, W. Penrice, G. Doll and R.L. Virtue of Toronto; J.B. Gilles- pie, E.H. Gionet, R. Thibault, W.S. Roddis from Chapleau; thirty from the local office staff and with recently-retired Lilyan Chris tie and Chester Baillie. On her last work day; Mrs. McKevitt was entertained by Superintendant, A.A. Small, at a luncheon held in the conference room in the Schreiber station, with some thirty fellow workers enjoying the last lunch hour with Inez. Mr. Small paid tribute to Inez, for her service to the Company, and her personal 'rela- tionship with officers which had solved many JI immediate problems "on the job" which could have been snarled in red tape. "In charge of the payroll of this big div- ision, Inez not only maintained a good rela- tionship with roadmasters, but, also. knew almost every section man, by his record. From the Pay-Roll Inez went on to be the Engineer- ing Dept. Clerk. to pay .tribute. During the luncheon, Lionel Bourguignon, office manager, presented an orchid corsage to Inez. Mr. Small invited Si» everyone to attend a presentation in the gen- eral office. At this occasion, Inez was given many let- ters, gifts and telegrams from former Schrei- ber officers and employees, unable to attend the occasion. Inez was also presented with ) a plaque inscribed with her years of service with C.P. Rail, a photograph of the town taken' by J.E. Cline and a "Heart" made by Joyce Gil -more - of $5., $10., $20. and $50 dollar bills tied with.a silver bow. Mrs. McKevitt was also entertained at many private parties by Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Maillie, Mr. and Mrs. Hobden Spikula, Miss Mildred D'Arcy, Mrs. Gladys Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Denis Connely and Mrs. Bernice Jacomb. Telegrams of congratulation were received from former Schreiber officials and fellow workers - W.C. Tripp, Don and Mary-Fay Green, Neal Foot, W.R. Burroughs and Gary Hutchinson.
