ALLAN SMITH GUEST SPEAKER Mrs. Esther Walker, Mrs. Myrtle Gordon and Mrs. Eileen Christianson were welcomed by Mrs. Beth Macadam, president, as guests at the March first meeting of the United Church Women. A donation of $25.00 was made to the Sch- Schreiber Girls' Craft Club. It was decided to cater for a wedding sup- per in August and to submit a bid for a lun- cheon in May. A carpet has been ordered for the Church, to be installed before Easter. : A motion of appreciation was made to Bill Gerow and Marlene Doig who drove members to Terrace Bay for the Birchwood Home penny auction. Mrs. Winnie Clemens requested members to save items such as laminated egg cartons, plastic bottles, old jewellery, odds and ends of yarn for the Craft Room in the Home. Members were reminded to bring donations to the Cancer Cupboard to the April meeting. ' Mrs. Annie Niemi, Mrs. Norma Fummerton and Mrs. Bern Jacomb were named as April tea hos- tesses. Several thank you letters were received and Mrs. Margaret Smith reported on cards sent during the month. Minutes of the last meeting and the treas- urer's report were adopted as read. Spadoni was in Kitchener on February 24th to attend the funeral of William Bulger whose death occurred on February 22nd. Mr. Bulger is well remembered in Schreiber where he tdught high school: for some years. SOCIAL: Mr. and Mrs. from Florida where they enjoyed a five week holiday. Bill Cocks have returned Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson spent their vaca- tion in Hawaii and plan a longer stay next year.
