FEBRUARY 9, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT The Terrace Bay Police Department was called upon to investigate thirty<six occur- rences for the period February lst to 7th. On February lst, a Thunder Bay resident was charged with theft of a motor vehicle from Kimberly-Clark. This subject will also face a charge of impaired driving. Court has been set. for February 17th, 1977. On February 2nd, a male person was checked by police and as a result, it was learned that he was wanted for five counts of theft in St. Jerome, Quebec. This subject has been re- turned to St. Jerome to face the charges. On February 3rd, a charge .of shoplifting was investigated from a local store and this matter was cleared. s A local motorist was observed doing a "power turn" at an intersection and:was: charged with careless driving under the highm- way traffic act. Two speeding charges were also laid as a result of police radar being used. : On February 4th, police were called to a disturbance at a local drinking establishment and this matter has been cleared. Police in- vestigated a motor vehicle collision on the mill road with damage estimated at $1,400.00 A vehicle driven by Leo Levesque of Thunder Bay was northbound on the mill road and came into collision with a vehicle driven by Robert Cummings of Schreiber. Apparently the Cummings vehicle had failed to yield to the oncoming Levesque vehicle. No charges were laid as this road is on private property. On February 5th, a juvenile was reported missing by his parents. The juvenile returned home later and this matter is concluded. : Three charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario and the minors in- volved will appear in court on March 3rd. A total of three persons were charged with Assault.Causing Bodily Harm in two separate occurrédnces this past week. A male victim is still in hospital as a result of one of the assaults. The other victim has damage to his eye and broken teeth. One male accused person has been released on $100.00 'bail and all three will appear in court on February 17th.
