In fact, the law specifies that if you notify your credit card company i time, you won't even be liable for the $50. Following are some precautions if your card is ever lost or stolen: -Keep a list of all cards, account numbers, names, addresses, and phone numbers of the companies. Keep it in a place seperate from the cards. -If your cards are lost or stolen, contact each company by phone or wire, then follow up with a let- ter. -Carry your cards separate from your wallet. -Keep only those cards you intend to use. Cancel, then cut in half, those cards you seldom use or the one that duplicate others. -If you have a number of credit cards, it might be wise to con- sider credit card insurance.
