Local President, Peter Romanuk, presented each retiree with a cheque for one hundred and fifty dollars, with congratulations on be- half of the union. Many children and relatives of the retirees attended the function from various parts of Canada and the United States. Committee members: Reg Cotton, Membership; Howard Solly, Sports; Ray Theriault and Alphon -se Theriault, Sick and Visiting Committee. John Falzetta was the Installing Officer. Colours were presented by Howard Solly and Butch Bouchard. Past President, Jim Beddard opened the meeting with a few words of welcome and thanked his 1975 executive for their supp --ort during his term of office. Acting Sgt. at Arms, Butch Bouchard Presented the execut- ives for installation. The incoming President Bill Kujbida made a small speech. Mr. George Carter, District Secretary of the Canadian Cancer Society, stopped briefly 5 in Terrace Bay recently and met with the local group. : With his help it is expected that and Educ -ational Program will be presented in Terrace Bay some time after the new year. When the details are worked out they will be publicized. Great strides have been made in recent years against many froms of cancer but we need education to help us to recognize this enemy in time to overcome it.
