You want your business 10 grow. The Northern Ontario Development Corporation was created by the Ontario Government to stimulate the economic growth of this region. This means finding ways for smaller businesses to become bigger, or at least more profitable. This can mean making money available to qualifying businesses for expansion of plant or facilities, if you can show us that you cannot obtain funds from the regular lenders. This can mean talking, at no cost to you, with our team of con- sultants -- experienced in engineering, accounting, business administration and marketing, and all of them residents of the north -- about your particular problems. To find out what the N.O.D.C. can mean to you, get to know your local representative -- in Timmins, Sudbury, Thunder Bay. We're here to help, that's our business. An N.O.D.C. travelling consultant will be in this area at: The Northern Affairs Office, Marathon Monday, Sept. 22 (p.m.), & Tuesday, Sept. 23rd (a.m.) Interviews for Marathon, Manitouwadge, Terrace Bay and Schreiber. CHRONIC GLAUCOMA Chronic Glaucoma is one of the many eye diseases detected by an eye examination on the Mobile Eye Care Unit, a Prevention of Blind- ness Service to northern Ontario by The Can- adian National Institute for the Blind. "This disease which develops from a defect in the circulation system of the eye, is a leading cause of blindness in Canada," says Mrs. Charlene Cameron, Co-ordinator of the Service. "If detected early, chronic glaucoma can usually be effectively controlled by the sim- ple use of drops. In later stages, surgical procedures are used to assist natural drain- aig within the eye." Mrs. Cameron said that there are often no symptoms until the disease is advanced. Vic- tims may notice blurred eyesight, rings around lights and loss of side vision. The Mobile Eye Care Unit will return to Terrace Bay -from October 6th to October 8th sponsored by Terrace Bay Kinsmen Club. Watch next week's News for instructions on how to make your appointment.
