PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 10, 1975 JOHNSON-GOULD VOWS EXCHANGED On Saturdsy, August 9th, I975 at 4:00 p.m, Gail Ann Gould the youngest daughter of Clara and Fred Gould, 424 Elizabeth hvenue, Terrace Bay, was united in Marriage by Reverend Peter McKague in a double ring ceremony, to Bertil Cordon Allan Johnson of Thunder Bay, the eldest son of Lillien and Eric Johnson, Hawks Junction, Ontario. Given in marrtage by her father (ail looked radiant in a floor length white wedding gown of georgette over taffeta, featuring a scalloped neckline, long sheer puff sleeves, fit- ted bodice and full princess style skirt. A border of lace motifs decorated the front of the skirt and down each side of the train which was attached at the waist. Her floor length vell of tulle illusion was also edged with lace and fell in two tiers over the train to billow out softly behind the Bride as she walked with her father between pews decorated with yellow daisies and setin bows. Red carnations were on the Altar, . The Bride wore pearl earrings and a pendant which was a gift from her parents, Her bouquet was a cascade of red roses and Baby's Breath encircled with white tulle and white trail- ing ribbons, Matron of honour was Nancy Doetzel, Thunder Bay, sister of the Bride. Her peasant style dress was torquoise blue polished cotton with long bell shaped sleeves trimmed with a lace strip running down the length of the sleeves. The full skirt featured a band of lace between two tiers. She carried a Nosegay of white daises and trailing blue satin ribbons, The two bridesmaids, both life long friends of the Bride were Michelle Rochon and Claudette Stevens both of Terrace Bay. They were identically dressed in long sleeveless gowns of pink polished cotton with two rows of ruffles over the shoulders and inlets of white glazed cotton motifs above the waist and around the hem of the skirt. Their nosegays were white trailing ribbons from s bouquet of yellow daisies. They wore a silver and pearl choker type necklace which was a gift from the Bride, Fach Bridesmaid hed white roses scattered in their hair, Music in the church was played by Mrs, Marg Simmer.of Ter=- race Bay. The best man was ushers were Wayne Jo the groom, : The Groom, best man and ushers were all attired in black pants and blue tuxedos with black velvet lapels and bow ties. The white shirts were enhanced with bluse ruffles and each John Chamberlain of Thunder Bay and the hnson and Robert Johnson both brothers of wore a white carantion. The Bride's Mother, Clara Gould wore a floor length sleev- less gown of torquoiss chiffon over silk, It was patterned with sprays of blue, lilac and white flowers. The matching chiffon coat had long puffed sleeves and fastened at the waist with a decorative bow. She wore a corsage of champagne carna- tions and had blue and white daisy motifs pinned in her hair, She wore silver accessories. The Grooms Mother wore a floor length sleeveless gown of 'pale tangerine chiffon featuring a square neck and ruffled bodice. Her corsage was champagne carnations and she wore a white silk stole with white accessories. A smorgasborg wedding supper and dance was held at the Moose Hall, Terrace Bay. Mrs, Alma McDonald, Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose was dining room hostess. John De jonghe, the Brides Godfather acted as Master of Ceremonies, Before intréducing the Bridal party Mr, Dejonghe presented the Bride and Groom with & family Bible. He gave the Toast to the Bride with the Groom responding and then giving a toast to the Bridesmeids. John Chamberlain responded and then a toast was given to the Mothers of the Bride and Groom / with Fred Gould responding. ] A pink and white three tiered wedding cake, decorated and made by Clara Gould decorated the head table, It lay on a bed of white tulle flanked by pink candles in crystal holders. The Bride and Groom were assisted by Mrs, Anne De jonghe, the Bride's Godmother to cut and distribute the cake among the guests, The guest book was circulated by Linda Lookley, the Groom's sister, : Dancing was enjoyed to the music of the Commisso Brothers Band, Following the traditional bouquet and garter throwing cer- emonies the Bride and Groom departed for Niagara Falls, Mich- igan and Southern and Eastern Ontario to visit various family members and friends, The Bride wore a green and white pant suit with white acce essories and a corsage of pink carnations. The Groom worse a Dbitown and white flowered silk shirt and black pants, . Out of town guests were: Mr, and Mrs. Eric Johnson (parents of the Groom) Robert and Ricky Johnson (brothers of the Groom) all of Hawk Junction,; Linda and Glen lLockley (sister of the Groom) and Wayne Johnson (brothers of the groom) from Calgary Alberta. Anita Young and Jimmy (sister of the groom) from Wawa; Elsie and Peter Skouris and Jason (sister of thé groom) from Toronto; Alan and Jeanne Johnson (uncle of the Groom) . from Longlac; Don and Polly Johnson ( cousin of the Groom) from Manitouwadge; Mrs, Margaret Manning and Sidney from Lon=- don, Ontario; Mrs. Millie Ulch, Searchmount, Ontario; John and Shirley Chamberlain, Thunder Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Slater from Schreiber. The couple will reside at 2I3 Ross Street, Thunder Bay. A wedding rehearsal luncheon was held at the home of the Bride's parents prior to the wedding. Mrs, Anne De jonghe was dining room hostess and pink and white roses decorated the tables, David Mercier entertained the guests with his Spanish guitar, A Bridal shower was held in the Community Church for Gail, with the hostess being Debbie LeClair. A stag was held in Thunder Bay for Bert put on by his friends from Great lakes Paper Company, £02 Employees. NOTICE OF MEETING Annual Meeting, Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association will be held Monday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre.
