In announcing his intention to seek the nom- ination, Mr. Springer stated that he felt a change of government for Ontario was essential and that he felt the Liberal Party under Rob- ert Nixon was offering the alternative that the people of the province wanted. In seeking the nomination to oppose the pre- sent member, Mr. Springer indicated that he : felt his municipal experience would be a def- inite asset and the fact that he is a bachelor would allow him to devote his 'full time to this - large riding. "It is about time," said Mr. Springer "that this riding had a voice on the government ben- ches and when Bob Nixon forms the next govern- ment I want to be that voice."
