PAGE I6 TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 26, 1975 $ WOMEN'S INSTITUTE FEBRUARY MEETING Mrs. Norma Fummerton presided for the Feb- ruary meeting of the Schreiber Women's Instit- ute, welcoming Mrs. Edyth Cosgrove, president of the local Kinettes and Mrs. Pat Moore, vice president, and Mrs. Inez McCuaig as guests. The roll call was answered with gifts for the new year baby. Motto for the meeting was "The bird with the largest bill is not the pelican but the stork." Correspondence read by Mrs. Winnie Clemens included a letter from the new president of the F.E.I.O0., Mrs. Herb Maluske with informa- tion that fees this year have been raised to $I.50, due in April; information regarding the 27 officers' conference to be held April 29, with the University of Guelph being considered The monthly Consumer Contact Bulletin dealt with winter driving - dangers of spinning tir- es, carbon monoxide, exchanges and refunds of goods and condensation in homes. Mrs. Christine Morris, giving the financial report, stated Mrs. Venita McKenna had won the recent $25.00 draw. : Mrs. Winnie Campbell reported sending cards for various occasions to residents in Birch- wood Home, Terrace Bay. Members were asked to wear a 'bit of green' and tell an Irish story at the March meeting. Mrs. Clemens gave an excellent paper on Citizenship Canada. : At the end of the meeting Aurel Gauthier, clerk-treasurer of Schreiber, presented the Silver cup, engraved from the town council, to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Meister for their daughter Sheralea - Schreiber's New Year baby.
