MARCH 6, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 17 MINOR HOCKEY PLAYOFFS The Terrace Bay Midgets is the only team which has survived the semi-final playoffs for the North Shore Minor Hockey league. They defeated Manitouwadge on Sunday, March 3rd, II to 2. The second game and 3rd game (if necessary) will be played in Manitouwadge during this week. Both the Major Peewees and Bantams lost out to the Schreiber teams in the semi-finals INTERMEDIATES PLAY REMAINING LEAGUE GAMES THIS WEEK The last home game for the Terrace Bay RAIDERS will be played this coming Wednesday, March 6th, at 8:00 p.m. in the Terrace Bay arena. Playoffs for our local 'Terrace Bay RAIDERS will probably commence during the week of March IIth. More details will be publicized next week. JUNIOR BADMINTON SESSION CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND Due to the 3rd Annual Terrace Bay Winter Carnival, the regular Saturday morning sess- ion is cancelled. Announcements will be made at the schools. TERRACE BAY WINTER CARNIVAL A reminder that the Winter Carnival offic- ially gets underway tomorrow evening, Thurs- day, March 7th at 6:15 p.m. at the arena. Sunday, March I7th - Congregational Pot Luck Supper, Community Church Basement, 5 p.m. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING Senior Regent Jacqueline Sopel presided for the regular meeting of the Women of the Moose Chapter I426 held on February 20th. Minutes of the last meeting were adopted as read by Recorder Stella Sadowick and trea- surer's report was given. Correspondence in- cluded a thank you note from the Sopel, Yates and Oksanen families. A letter was read from the Minor Hockey Association pertaining to their banquet which will be held in May. The Moose Bowling League will be hosting the District Bowling Tournament on March 29th and 30th with invitations going out to Mara- thon, Kenora, Port Arthur, Fort William, Dry- den and Atikokan Lodge. Supper and dance to follow the bowling with music supplied by Sound Investment of Marathon. : Reports were given by standing committees. Coffee and donuts were served by the Hos- pital committee. Pot of Gold was won by Sad- ie Benko. Next meeting will be held on March 6th with Chairman Betty Oksanan and her committee of Shirley Opas, Doris Legault and Lorraine Prill being in charge of the program. A correction to the last report of the Women of the Moose when the name of Julie Sadowick should have been listed and not that of Julie Sammann. The Warranty The warranty is the thing that expires just before a major break- down.
