CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEETING The Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce met at its regular meeting November I5th with six mem -bers present. R. Buckley reported on the annual meeting of the Superior Northern Route Regional Tourist Council held in Terrace Bay on-November 3rd. Leroy Smith of MacDiarmid was .elected Presi- dent of the organization for I973-74. R. Sinotte was elected first Vice-President and J. Whetter of Schreiber among its directors. M. Neidraurer of Manitouwadge reported on his recent visit to Toronto with other Region- al Tourist Councils and the Department of In- dustry and Tourism. The whole concept of tourism will change in 1974 and what was form- erly 36 Tourist Councils in Ontario will be- come II Travel Councils, of which six were Mr. Neidraurer will head up -the pro tem committee to help organize the travel council in our area. As first Vice-President of the Superior Northern Route Regional Tourist Council, R. Sinotte. will be a member of this pro tem committee. As new Christmas decorations will be evident in the Township of Terrace Bay this year, it was thought 'that perhaps the merchants might be willing to make an extra éffort to display trees or other decorations. W.E. Cavanaugh agreed to visit the various stores and make the suggestion. J. Hale and D. Rafflant will form the nomin ~ating committee to elect new officers at the next regular meeting to be held December 20th. * ' NOTICE TOWNSHIP OF HREIBER Effective December ¥; 1973, all dog owners allowing their dog run at large are subject to. a; fine of $10.
