TERRACE BAY ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE The inaugural meeting of the Terrace Bay Advisory Planning Committee was held in the Municipal Cham- bers on Wed. evening at 7 p.m. Roy Bray chaired the meeting, with Dave Henderson and Don Monohan, from the Ontario Planning Board, and Jack Marsh, of the W.R.C. there to steer the committee in the right direction. Those on the Plan- ning Committee are Roy Bray, Rolly Sinotte, Grant Puttock, Ken Eaton, Peter Romanyk, Ken Mac Leod and Bill Hanley. Mr. Henderson explained that the first duty of the Planning Committee would be to up-date the present zoning by-law. : New development proposals are to be looked at and decisions arrived at would be presented to Council as recommendations. Mr. Henderson stated it was very important to involve people in the town in their dis- cussions and proposals. We felt that the Dept. of National Resources and the Dept. of Highways should also be consulted. Jack Marsh, of the O \W.R.C. said his department stands ready to advise and offer assistance where need ed in planning sewer and water lines. Mobile Home Developments were discussed, with the fact pointed out that these homes in areas must be serviced with proper water, sewage and electrical services, as found in urban areas. Council would continue to work with the planning committee on an on-going basis. Mr. Henderson suggested that the committee publ- ish a proposed new zoning by-law in the local paper, then plan to hold a public meeting to hear motions of approval or objections. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT Police investigated a total of 33 occurences during the past week. Twenty-Four motor vehicles were checked for equip- ment and cautioned. Two persons were charged under the H.T.A. One for speeding and one careless driving. Report of an assault at the Recreation Centre was received and is under investigation. Investigation is still pending regarding a number of street signs being removed during the night of Nov. |. Around midnight, Oct. 31/72 an I8 yr. old Hitch- hiker jumped off a Freight train as it was traveling through T. B. He was taken to hospital with head injuries.
